Being nominated to be a member of this prestigious National Honor Society is a real honor for me. It shows me that I have achieved my goal to work as hard as I possibly can to stand out among my peers. Throughout my two years here at Beardstown High School, I have always made every effort to do the best that I can to achieve the best grades possible. Not only do I focus on my academics, but I also try to be a benefit to the school. There are various reasons of why I feel I should be a member of the NHS.
I consider myself a friendly and caring person. I always try to help others and make them feel good about themselves. I’m always cheerful and I don’t easily let others put me down because I know what I want to be and I’m going to make it come true. I always look at the positive things and I’m determined in making my dreams happen. I’m a trustworthy and responsible person that anybody can rely on. Leadership to me is really important and I like to be a leader so that other people can look up to me and help me make a difference.
I like to help my community in any way I can and contribute to activities in or out of school. I like to be an active member of our community because it helps us unite and move forward to make society a better place to live. I do many things for people that need help to carry out activities and enjoy participating in events. Keeping a good grade average to me is very important. Being a member of the NHS will encourage me to keep my grades up and help me set bigger goals for my future. I get my homework in on time and I like learning new things in class.
I’m a well organized person and I like to be updated on school programs. I enjoy when teachers make challenges for me because I feel that it will help me out a lot in making decision and prepare for college. In school I attend club meetings and I help in events. On Thursday’s I go to a Church Youth Group in St. Alexius Church and I help the nuns in church events such as church plays and raising money. I play in the Lady Tiger’s Basketball team in school and in the afternoons I go play soccer with a team of friends and compete against each other.
Recently I have made it to Science Fair Regional’s and now I’ve advanced to State Science Fair. My ultimate objective is not only to help make this organization better than it already is, but also to help each member of the organization to gain personal achievement and success that they can use for themselves and also use to serve others in the community. I would participate in all the activities I can and work hard as a team with my classmates. Everyday of my life I keep in mind and act the meaning of leadership, service, character and scholarship.
